As the official professional organization of Indian American Nurses in Pennsylvania, PIANO, will uphold the positive image and welfare of its constituent members, by promoting professional excellence to healthcare and society.

To promote professional excellence in nursing practice and health care through empowerment and renewal of professional and cultural identity of its constituents to optimize their contribution to the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities

Goals:

Goals of the organization shall include but not limited to:

  • Unify the Indian nurses in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA.
  • Develop, evaluate and implement programs in nursing education, leadership, practice and research relevant to the professional growth of its members and health care needs of the community.
  • Facilitate professional and cultural adjustment of Indian nurses in Pennsylvania through collaboration with agencies and organizations in USA.
  • Participate in cultural and professional activities of the Indian community both nationally and globally.
  • Promote and advocate for the provision of the best possible healthcare to all, especially the vulnerable population.
  • Equip its members with cultural competency, sensitivity and educational experience to be effective in a multicultural society.
  • Provide health screening and promote health awareness to community members through seminars, workshops, and health fairs.
  • Promote the nursing profession through career counseling related to professional choices in schools and among the public at large.
  • Support nursing education by providing scholarships.
  • Provide mentoring for its members.
